The St. Ann Parish Picnic was held on May 7-8, 2010. There were exciting rides, fun games, and delicious food. There was even music in the evenings! It was wonderful to see all the happy faces despite the chilly temperatures. Special thanks to all the members of the planning committee including Fr. Bill, Michelle Haley, Katie Andrews, Robyn Provost, Bruce Gardiner, and Matt Dooley. All the fantastic volunteers helped everything to run smoothly, too. Mark your calendars now for the picnic next year!

UPDATE: St. Ann has now setup an auction registry at Target.com. Simply visit the registry online via this link to see what options we would love to have at the auction. All you need to do is then purchase an item and then drop it off at the rectory. We hope this registry provides you with some wonderful ideas on how to help donate to this year’s event.
Dear St. Ann School families, friends & parishioners,
The 40th annual Sponsor’s Dinner Dance & Auction is coming up on Saturday, April 24, 2010. This is the school’s biggest fundraiser of the year. Last year we raised an amazing $63,400, which was used to further update the Science Lab, repair the school roof, purchase 2 classroom MIMIO boards and laptops, plaster and repaint the school gym, help to ensure the financial stability and budget of the school and parish, and take care of many other necessary repairs/maintenance to the school and church … all thanks to many generous donors.
You may not realize it, but you have connections to local and national businesses, individuals, and organizations that may be willing to contribute to this event!
- Do you work at a hotel or know someone that does who would donate a stay?
- Do you have a connection at one of the airlines who would be willing to give tickets?
- Do you have a vacation home/time share you would be willing to donate for others to bid on and enjoy?
- Do you have a favorite restaurant, coffee shop, or movie theater that would be willing to donate a gift certificate?
- How about a hairdresser, masseuse, craftsman, or contractor that would donate their services?
Please take some time to think about what you do and who you know and how you may be able to help make this year’s event a huge success! New items and services are always needed to keep the auction going, year after year. (Click here to download a Donation Request Letter template.)
Just call or drop a note through school to one of this year’s auction chairpersons, Kay Dieckmann (381-7201) or Cheri Smith (382-1107) and let us know what you are thinking about. The deadline for donations is March 26. If you are interested in helping out in other ways with this year’s auction, please let us know… new people bring new ideas.
We hope you are able to join us and other St. Ann School parents and parishioners on April 24 for a fantastic evening of great food, fun, a live band, dancing, and over 175 incredible items and services to bid on! Don’t miss it!
Sincerely,
Cheri Smith & Kay Dieckmann, 2010 Auction Co-Chairs

If you could have a percentage of every online purchase you make support St. Ann Catholic School, would you?
Of course you would, especially if you found out how easy it is!
Our partnership with We-Care.com allows us to receive a donation whenever you shop online at more than 900 participating merchants. All you need to do is click through our We-Care.com marketplace and then shop from the merchants you use every day – directly from their websites. There are no extra charges and you may even save money with coupons and special offers.
Participating merchants offer retail, travel, financial services, and quite a bit more. Book your flight and hotel. Rent a car. Shop for books. Get contact lenses. Buy furniture and household items. Send gifts. Pick out a cell phone plan. Order web hosting and office supplies. Subscribe to magazines, newspapers, DVD services, and even satellite TV. You get the idea.
To see a full list of the merchants you go to this link: http://sacs.we-care.com/MerchantList. What makes this link more interesting than a printout is that the donation amounts appear when you move your mouse over the merchant name!
We-Care.com isn’t about making one big donation, nor does it replace the donations you normally make. It works best when lots of people participate frequently. So tell your friends, families, and neighbors so that they can help us, too. Please make it a habit every time you shop online and make a difference for St. Ann Catholic School.

St. Ann’s annual Jump Rope for Heart Benefit raised over $1800 for the American Heart Association. All students participated during their PE classes on Feb. 22nd. Over 80% of the students in Kindergarten and Sixth grade obtained donations. For their efforts, those two classes will receive an all-game PE class next week! The teachers raised over $100 dollars and some of them even participated in tinikling and the high jump! The top 3 fundraisers received a “Heart Ambassador” pin. Prizes for all the fundraisers will be distributed soon. Great job to all those who involved!!

We go forth to love and serve God in every neighborhood of the Archdiocese of St. Louis, and we grow as Christians each time we share our gifts. In schools and parishes, on soccer fields and in churches, through a variety of other critical services, Catholics bring the light of Christ to others.
Your gift to the Annual Catholic Appeal helps support the necessary financial needs of our schools, parishes, charitable activities and apostolates in the Archdiocese. Your gift touches the lives of the ill, the unborn, the student, the infirmed, the elderly, the widow, the homeless and those suffering from injustice.
Please make a pledge to the 2009 Annual Catholic Appeal.
