A million thanks to all the families, students, and UMSL volunteers who helped during the 3rd Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service. At one point during the day there were at least 60 people busy painting the main hall, cleaning every classroom and stairwell, and washing walls in the restrooms. There was even a group at work outside removing the last of the bushes under the large pine tree by church. That area is going to become a Memorial Garden in memory of Mr. Wiedmann. The weather was so beautiful that we enjoyed our pizza lunch outside under the pavilion. God gave us many blessings on Monday!

First Graders Visit The Good Shepherd Convent

On Wed. Jan 18th the First Grade visited the sisters at the Good Shepherd Convent next door to the library. Each month they walk to the convent and spend time with the sisters. This month, each child picked out a favorite book to read to them. The sisters were very patient listeners!

First Grade Night at the Library

Wednesday Jan 11th was “First Grade Night” at the Natural Bridge branch of the library. Each first grader came to the library wearing their pajamas and carrying their favorite stuffed animal. While Mrs. Jeanie (the children’s librarian) read them stories, the parents went with Mr. Conrad to the computer lab. He showed them how to access Tumblebooks and other on-line resources the library has to offer. The evening ended with quiet parent/student reading time and snacks! Thanks Mrs. Jeanie and Mr. Conrad for hosting this special night!
