Service Opportunities

The school theme for 2008-2009 is Sowing Seeds of Service.  The students have many opportunities to learn the joy of offering service to others.  Some school-wide projects have included collecting over 190 pairs of shoes for the children in Belize, contributing over 100 Filled with Love food bags for Caritas Center, and participating in Jump Rope for Heart.

Individual classes have also been involved in service projects.  The fourth grade class organized a collection of food treats for the U.S.O.  The art classes have been making holiday cards for the residents of Sabbath Manor.  The third grade class has been operating the school post office so that we can send and receive mail twice a week. The fifth grade class raked leaves for the St. Ann Preschool. Eighth graders adopted veterans for Christmas.

The Student Council has organized fundraisers which enabled the school to create Lizzy’s Garden.  These are just a few examples of the varied activities that the students have undertaken to help others and show their love for God.
